How Does Our Partnership Align With NEP 2020?

NEP 2020 sets out a vision of education in which children develop cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically, not only academically. It asks schools to bring life skills, values and the arts into everyday learning, and it places play-based, activity-based learning at the centre of the early years. It also points to counselling and wellbeing as part of a child’s school life.

Our reading of that vision is simple. A school that takes holistic development seriously needs a clear, structured way to build emotional and life skills into children’s experience. That is what our partnership provides. Whether your school chooses a year-long curriculum designed for its own timetable or a holiday programme that every student completes online, the aim is the same: every child builds the skills that support learning, and the school can show that it is working towards the goals of NEP 2020.

We present this as our interpretation of the policy, not as a government endorsement. Your school remains responsible for its own curriculum decisions, and our programmes support those decisions.

How Can Your School Partner With BodhiShishu

Schools can choose between two routes. Both build emotional and life skills for children, and both can lead to certification as a Holistic Development School, aligned with NEP 2020.

Route 1: A Year-Long Curriculum for Your School

We design an emotional and life skills curriculum around your school’s timetable and run it across the academic year. The curriculum draws on our three domains: Emotional Intelligence, Focus and Concentration, and Confidence and Communication. Your school receives the materials it needs to deliver the curriculum with confidence, so the work becomes part of everyday school life rather than an occasional activity.

Route 2: A Holiday Programme for Every Student

Students complete a self-paced online programme during the school holidays. The programme takes about three hours, and each student works through it on our learning platform at a pace that suits them. Parents receive a hard-copy certificate for each child when the child completes it.

How Certification Works

Certification follows completion. We track each student’s progress on our learning platform, so we can see when every student has finished. Once all students have completed the programme, the school and its students receive their certificates.

How Does the Holiday Programme Work for Students?

The holiday programme is designed to fit the school break. Each student completes it online, in their own time and at their own pace, on our learning platform. The full programme takes about three hours, so it is a manageable commitment during the holidays, and no classroom time is needed.

Students work through the programme independently. We track completion on our platform, so the school does not need to collect or check individual records. When a student finishes the programme, their parents receive a hard-copy certificate for that child.

Once every student in the school has completed the programme, the school receives its certificate as a Holistic Development School, aligned with NEP 2020.

What Do Your School and Its Students Receive?

A certificate for every child.

Each child who completes the programme receives a hard-copy certificate to share with their parents.

A Holistic Development School certificate, aligned with NEP 2020.

Once the school has completed the work, it receives a certificate that recognises its commitment to holistic development. Parents and the wider community can see it at a glance.

When Does a School Earn Its Certificate?

Certification is based on completion, and completion is clear and transparent. Every route has a defined finish line, so schools know exactly what they need to do.

Year-long curriculum (Route 1): The school is certified once the curriculum has been implemented across all grades. Children in each grade receive their certificates on completion, and the school receives its certificate when all grades are complete.

Holiday programme (Route 2): The school is certified once every student has completed the programme on our learning platform. We track completion directly, so there is no need for manual checks or record-keeping by the school.

Who Stands Behind BodhiShishu’s School Programmes?.

BodhiShishu was founded in 2019 and incubated at IIM Bangalore (NSRCEL), with support from Stanford Seed. Our founder, Ms Darshan Bawa, holds a Berkeley certification in Emotional Intelligence, and our work has been featured in The Times of India. We have supported more than 5,000 children.

What your school can expect: Children who build emotional and life skills tend to be more able to manage frustration, concentrate on tasks and speak up in class. Our programmes are designed to build these skills in a structured, age-appropriate way, so the benefits are consistent across the school rather than limited to a few individual teachers.

What we are not promising: Every school and every group of children is different. We do not guarantee specific academic results. What we guarantee is a clear, well-structured programme, a transparent completion process and certificates that recognise the work your school has done.

FAQ

Is there a fee for the partnership?

Please contact us for details. We will explain the options and costs for your school when we speak.

Does this replace our existing curriculum?

No. The holiday programme sits alongside your existing timetable and needs no classroom time. The year-long curriculum is designed to fit within your timetable, supporting the work your teachers already do.

How long does the holiday programme take?

The programme takes about three hours, and each student completes it online at their own pace during the school holidays.

How will the school know when students have finished?

Completion is tracked on our learning platform, so you can see when each student has finished without collecting records yourself.

What does the Holistic Development School certificate mean?

It recognises that your school has completed the work and is committed to holistic development, aligned with NEP 2020. It is issued by BodhiShishu. It is not a government accreditation.

Which grades can take part?

The holiday programme is available to students across grades. The year-long curriculum is implemented across all grades to earn the school certificate.

How do we get started?

Contact us through the button on this page, and we will talk you through the two routes and help you choose the one that suits your school.

Do teachers need any training before the programme starts?

Your school’s teachers do not need to deliver the holiday programme, since students complete it independently online. For the year-long curriculum, we will discuss how your teachers are supported when we speak with you.

Can our school be certified if only some students complete the programme?

The school certificate is issued once every student has completed the programme, or once the year-long curriculum has been implemented across all grades. Partial completion does not earn the school certificate, though students who have finished still receive their own certificates.
